Our Story

The Double Rainbow Project began during the global lockdown, when two friends, Michelle and Erika, once neighbors and now living in different states, started sending each other small pieces of “happy mail.” Inside were glass prism sun catchers that filled their homes with rainbows and lifted their spirits during a difficult season.

When shipping fragile glass to loved ones became expensive and complicated, they created a better solution: rainbow-making window clings that could be tucked inside a greeting card and mailed anywhere. What started as a simple way to spread joy quickly grew into something more.

Today, Double Rainbow Project creates memorial sun catchers, sympathy gifts, and joyful rainbow window clings designed to transform ordinary sunlight into meaningful moments. Many people choose them as remembrance gifts to honor a loved one or pet - a daily reminder that their light continues to shine. Others simply use them to bring color, warmth, and happiness into their homes.

Through our philanthropic 501(c)(3) arm, we also donate sun catchers to hospitals, nursing homes, widow retreats, veterans, and families navigating loss - sharing small gifts of light with communities across the United States. Thousands have been donated thus far.

At Double Rainbow Project believe rainbows are more than reflections. They are reminders that love remains, joy can coexist with sorrow, and even the smallest light can brighten a room.
